God's People

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:9

WHO WE ARE

The Monastery of St. George & St. Paul The Anchorite will find its home on Range Road 263, to the south of Highway 11, nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Red Deer County, Alberta. It will stand as a vital component of the Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada. In a historic move in 2013, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II established the very first Coptic Orthodox Diocese in Canada, appointing His Grace Bishop Mina to preside over it.

The Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada encompasses a vast geographical expanse, including the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, as well as the western cities and towns in Ontario, notably Mississauga.

VISION

To be a beacon of solid Coptic orthodox faith, spiritual enlightenment, and compassionate service, nurturing the soul and illuminating the path to God's love and to shine the light of Christ's love into the hearts of all who cross our threshold.
